Texas Sheet Cake (Heidi)

2 sticks of butter
1 cup of water
4 Tbsp cocoa powder
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray bakers 1/2 sheet (same as a jelly roll pan) with non-stick cooking spray. Melt together butter, water and cocoa powder. I use the microwave, but however you want. In another bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, cinnamon and baking soda. Combine the butter mixture and flour mixture. Stir until smooth. Add buttermilk, eggs and vanilla. Stir until smooth. Pour into prepared sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. While cake is baking, make frosting:

Frosting:
1 stick butter
4 Tbsp cocoa powder
6 Tbsp buttermilk
4 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Melt together cocoa powder and buttermilk. Add powdered sugar and stir until smooth. Add vanilla. Frost cake while it is still warm. Sprinkle with chopped nuts (optional), if that's how you like your chocolate cake. Enjoy!
