Texas Sheet Cake (Mortenson)

Cake:
Bake at 325 degrees for 30 min
1 stick butter
1/2 cup shortening
3, 1/2 tbsp cocoa
1 cup water
Combine and bring to rolling boil

Pour into and mix well:
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Add 1/2 cup buttermilk (milk and tiny bit of vinegar can substitute)
2 eggs slightly beaten
1, 1/2 tsp vanilla

Frosting:
Pour over warm cake
Bring to a rolling boil:
1 stick butter
2, 1/2 tbsp cocoa
6 Tbsp milk

Add 1 lb powdered sugar (just over 2 cups) and mix well
Add 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1 tsp vanilla
